Jessica L Dellinger
Artist
Jessica L. Dellinger was born in Roanoke, Virginia. She was welcomed into the Dellinger family off Red Banks Road in Mount Jackson, Virginia by the age of 3. She has always been artistic and musical! Beginning with piano, then dabbling in the school band and finding her ‘fingers’ on the Viola and eventually the Violin. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School (now Mountain View High School) and attended James Madison University. She earned her degree in Music Business & Violin becoming the Concertmaster (first chair Violin) of the JMU Orchestra for her Senior Year. Throughout her life she continually found peace in art as well as the process of creating. Watercolor, acrylic, woodworking, gardening, repurposing of antiquities, sculpture, pottery, photography, and macrame, just to name a few! She is eager to work with the community to collaborate and curate art that is meaningful, significant and dynamic!

Terry Thiele
Photography
Terry is a 2002 Studio Art graduate of James Madison University where she concentrated on Interior Design. She has gone in and out of creating her own art over the years but has always been an appreciator of others’ work. She got back into photography over the last few years inspired by all the beautiful scenery in the Shenandoah Valley.
Sue Somerville
Artist (Stained Glass)
Sue moved to the Valley in 2020 with her husband and dogs. She embraces sunsets around the firepit and eagles flying down the Shenandoah. Sue enjoys baking, canning, and gardening and volunteers with Sustainability Matters – Garden Gossip, helping with the annual plant swap. Sue makes 2-D and 3-D stained glass, from jewelry to suncatchers & panels, and boxes to sculptures and lamps. For fun, Sue volunteers as VECCA’s treasurer.

Billy Smelser
Artist
Billy began painting in 2019 and is mostly self-taught. He loves trying new mediums and combining these mediums with different techniques. He enjoys watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, jewelry making and other crafts. He draws inspiration from nature, beauty and emotions. He plans and sketches a work that is more realistic opposed to just diving in on abstract works and seeing where it leads him. He has had his work displayed at the VECCA gallery, The Barns at Rose Hill in Berryville, VA, Muse Winery and The Halls at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. He has also displayed with Shenarts Artscape13 and currently with the Woodstock banner project. He has three daughters and two grandchildren. He is originally from Wytheville, VA and currently lives with his partner Clay in Strasburg, VA.

Dan Miller
Visual Artist, all the mediums
Dan’s passion for the arts has been a constant throughout his life. With an equal love for both technology and creativity, he’s always balanced the traditional with the digital. From lettering and calligraphy to typography and graphic design, graffiti and tattoos to video art and interactive installations, his work spans a wide range of mediums. After spending 15 years in New York City, working for interactive firms and up to Madison Avenue advertising firms, all while going to every gallery show every week for all the inspiration he could absorb. He returned to the DMV area before settling in the Valley, where his more recent work explores expressive ways to capture life in Shenandoah. His artistic journey is gaining momentum, with VECCA playing a key role in that progress. You can explore more of his traditional and professional work through the links below.

Diana Adams Schmidt
Visual Artist
I live in the Shenandoah Valley and enjoy biking around the rural countryside where I find inspiration for my art. I like to dabble in all sorts of creative materials, but primarily I play in acrylic, paper mache, wood, and mixed media collage. I also have begun to play with high contrast black and white digital photography.
